IDUN is the Goddess of forever Youth. She carries the apple of youth for the Gods. IDUN is a token of the transition towards a more male dominated culture. She is therefore placed first in the row of Goddesses and Gods in the park. She is characteristic for the period of time when women power decrases due to innovations such as the plough, farming, metals and weapons, things that call for great muscle strength. Women are degraded economically and became a source of service for men. The closer in time we get to ourselves the lower women get in rank and share of wealth. The peak was when "witches," that is knowledgeable women and men were burned in bonfires.
As IDUN is a young goddess, she has not had any places named after her. Streets named after her can be found in many areas around Stockholm.
